The Osage Prairie Trail is located on the old Midland Valley Rail bed. This railroad was abandoned, and
through Vision 2025 monies, the trail was able to be developed. The Osage Prairie Trail is a rails to trails project that is 14.5 miles long and extends from downtown Tulsa, near the OSU campus to Highway 20 in Skiatook. A future expansion will extend the trail to Birch Lake in Osage County. It is a 10′ wide paved trail, including 8 pedestrian bridges, one of which was a renovated historical highway bridge. The trail has an easy grade, since it was once a railroad corridor. Parking is available in Skiatook as well as at the OSU campus and in Sperry. Parking at Central Park in Skiatook features bike racks, water fountains, parking, restrooms (during season) and benches.
