Skiatook’s Downtown is coming back to life.

When the Skiatook Chamber of Commerce hired an outside consultant to come in, study their city to give a strategic plan for success, it was advised that they form a Downtown Committee. So they did. This committee is working to enhance the beautification, functionality and quality of life within Downtown Skiatook.

As the Downtown Committee was being formed, major revitalization began. Historic buildings are being brought back to life for retail, dining, office and living. There are currently 2 completed projects, 1 that is in the finishing stages and several others under construction now. A successful downtown must have all of the above to be sustainable and it is more than exciting to see it happening in the 74070.

Skiatook, Oklahoma has always had a large population of the ‘boom-a-rangers’; those that grew up in Skiatook, went to college, lived elsewhere for a time period but decided that home really is the best place to plant their roots and raise a family. That trend continues. Within this revitalization that is taking place 2 beautiful, Downtown Skiatook loft apartments have recently been leased by the Gen Z generation. This specific generation wants the close proximity to community, nightlife, dining and shopping without the cost of yard upkeep and home maintenance, so of course a downtown loft in an up and coming area would be the perfect fit and Skiatook, Oklahoma is offering just that.
